Shadowrocket DownloadApp Store Purchase & Restore

Shadowrocket is a paid app available only on the App Store. Verify the storefront and app details before purchasing and installing. If you've already bought it, check your purchased items first.

Price and compatibility are as shown on the App Store page. Buying the app does not include a connectivity plan.

01 / STORE

Storefront and account region: check availability first

Shadowrocket is not available on the mainland China storefront. Whether you can find it depends first on the country or region associated with the Apple ID used for the App Store, not your device's current location. The button above opens a specific product page, but us in the URL is only a storefront path. It won't switch your account region or guarantee that your account can complete the purchase.

First, check which account you actually use for the App Store. On your device, open “Settings,” tap your Apple ID, choose “Media & Purchases,” then view your account and check “Country/Region.” The account used for media purchases may differ from the one you expect, so use the account shown there. Menu names may vary slightly by system language and version; follow the labels on your device.

  1. Open “Settings” → Apple ID → “Media & Purchases.”
  2. Tap “View Account” and complete any authentication requested by your device.
  3. Check “Country/Region” to confirm the App Store storefront associated with the account.
  4. To manage your region, open “Change Country or Region” on that page and review Apple's listed requirements before proceeding.

Changing your region is an Apple account management action and may depend on factors such as account balance, active subscriptions, payment method, and Family Sharing status. Review Apple's requirements first and consider how the change could affect existing purchases and services. If you see a notice that a requirement isn't met, address the listed items first. This page explains where to find the setting; it doesn't guarantee that every account can change regions, and we don't recommend repeatedly changing account details just to alter search results.

Once you've confirmed the storefront, open the App Store product page using the button on this page. If it still says “Not Available” or you can't complete the purchase, note the exact message and determine whether the issue is storefront availability, account billing, or device compatibility. Being able to view an app's webpage and being able to buy it with your current account are separate matters. Check the result in the App Store on your device.

02 / VERIFY

Verify the app: developer, icon, and app ID

Check all three details to verify the app; don't rely on its name in search results alone. Shadowrocket is sometimes called “Little Rocket” in Chinese, but a nickname is not proof of identity. Similar names, icons, or descriptions in search results are no substitute for checking the developer and app ID.

Check the developer first

Open the product details and confirm the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Check the full product page rather than relying on the shortened title in search results. If the developer field doesn't match, don't assume it's the same app, even if the name looks similar. Return to the product page linked here and check again.

Then check the official icon

The official icon shows a rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background, matching the official icon in this site's header. Use it as a helpful visual reference, not as proof of identity on its own: similar colors and shapes can be misleading. Check the icon alongside the developer name rather than relying on a particular color or nickname.

Finally, check the app ID

The app ID is 932747118, and the product page URL ends with id932747118. This number identifies the specific app; it isn't a version number or order number. Once the developer, official icon, and app ID all match, check the purchase price and device compatibility.

After verifying the app, check the current button. A displayed price usually means the account doesn't have a purchase record that can be used here; a redownload option may let you access your purchased items. If you've already bought the app but still see a price, don't pay again right away. Check the account and purchase history as described in “Restore on a new device.” The App Store's own confirmation screen is authoritative for payment authorization.

03 / IPHONE

iPhone: purchase, install, and connect for the first time

On iPhone, check the compatibility information on the App Store product page before confirming that your device meets the requirements. System requirements are as listed on the App Store page; don't treat system version numbers in older guides as permanent requirements. If the product page says your device isn't compatible, address the system or device compatibility issue instead of trying to resolve it by tapping Buy repeatedly.

After verifying the app, follow the App Store prompts to confirm payment and authenticate. Wait for installation to finish, then open Shadowrocket from your Home Screen. Purchases are managed by your store account; whether the app can connect depends on your own configuration and network conditions. These are separate: a successful installation only confirms that the purchase and installation steps are complete.

  1. Open Shadowrocket and check Home for an existing server configuration.
  2. To add a server, open Add Server. If you already have a subscription, follow the guide to import your own and check its details.
  3. Check Global Routing. To route traffic according to configuration rules, choose Config and confirm which configuration file is selected.
  4. When you start a connection, read the system prompt asking to add a VPN configuration and confirm that it refers to the Shadowrocket you're using.

The system displays the prompt to add a VPN configuration to authorize the app to create the corresponding network configuration. It doesn't mean you've bought another service, and it won't create server details automatically. Grant permission only when you initiate connection setup and have confirmed the app's source. If you previously denied permission, try connecting again in the app and follow the current system instructions to check the configuration status.

For first-time use, start with your own existing subscription or server details and check the address, port, and protocol parameters one by one. Keep the original information and avoid changing several fields at once while troubleshooting. For the steps after installation, see the subscription import guide. If the app opens but won't connect, go to connection troubleshooting; a connection issue doesn't mean you need to buy the app again.

04 / IPAD

iPad: use your purchase history, then check the configuration

You can use the same Apple ID purchase on iPhone and iPad and install Shadowrocket on both compatible devices after buying it once. On your iPad, first confirm that Media & Purchases is signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, then check your purchased items in the App Store. Check the App Store page for system requirements and Universal Purchase availability; switching device types alone doesn't mean you need to pay again.

The iPad's wider screen may change how lists, detail panes, and other items are arranged compared with iPhone. When following a guide, look for names such as Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings instead of relying on a button's position in a screenshot. Device orientation and window width can also affect the layout, but the basic order for checking server parameters, configuration files, and Global Routing remains the same.

Your purchase record lets you reinstall the app; it doesn't mean all connection details have been copied to your iPad. After opening the app, check whether your existing entries are complete. If your configuration hasn't been restored, import your own subscription or server details. An empty Home screen doesn't mean the purchase failed, and a successful connection on your iPhone doesn't prove that your iPad is configured.

After setup, check the selected server, Global Routing, and current configuration file on each device. If you route traffic by rules, confirm that both devices use the intended Config and check its contents. If one device connects and the other doesn't, compare the parameters and network conditions first, then check whether your service supports simultaneous connections.

Compatibility with other Apple devices

The compatibility section on the same App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. If you plan to use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, check the product page on that device: compatibility, system requirements, and Universal Purchase availability are all as listed on the App Store page. The App Store remains the way to get the app; the iPhone and iPad instructions on this page may not apply to other devices.

05 / RESTORE

New device and restore: find your purchased app first

If you switch to a new iPhone or iPad, or delete and reinstall the app, use the Apple ID from your original purchase to find Shadowrocket again. The purchase is linked to your App Store purchase history, not to the old device. Sign in with the original account and redownload from an available storefront on a compatible device; you usually won't need to pay again. If the page still shows a price, check your purchase history first rather than treating another payment as part of the restore process.

  1. On your new device, check the account under “Media & Purchases” and confirm it matches the Apple ID used for the original purchase.
  2. Open the App Store, go to “Account,” and check “Purchased.” In some system versions, you may find it under “Apps” or a similar section.
  3. Look for Shadowrocket in your purchased items. If needed, check items that aren't on this device.
  4. Choose to redownload the app. Once installation is complete, open it and check your configuration.

If you can't find the purchase, first check whether you're signed in with a different personal account, then check your purchase history to confirm the app was bought. If the item was hidden, check the relevant section in your account settings for hidden purchases. A change in storefront region may also affect redownload availability. For account or billing notices, follow the App Store's instructions; don't place another order based only on the app's name.

Restoring the app and restoring connection details are separate tasks. After downloading it again, check whether your existing entries came over with device migration or a backup. If not, import your saved subscription or server details and select a configuration file again. Check that imported details are still valid too, so you don't carry an old address, outdated parameters, or an incorrect Global Routing selection onto the new device.

If your old device still works, confirm that the new device connects as expected before removing local data from the old one. Subscription links and server credentials are sensitive; don't include them in public screenshots or support requests. When asking for troubleshooting help, describe the error and steps you took, and hide authentication details. Family Sharing eligibility and Universal Purchase are separate considerations; check the App Store page and your account's actual status to see whether Family Sharing applies.

06 / PRICE

Price and purchase: the app and connectivity service are separate

Shadowrocket is a one-time paid app. The reference price on the US storefront is $2.99; other storefronts show prices in local currencies, and the App Store purchase confirmation screen shows the actual price. “One-time purchase” describes how you pay for the app, not a monthly app fee. A price shown in one storefront shouldn't be treated as a fixed price for every region.

Check these separately: before buying, verify the storefront, developer, and device compatibility; after buying, make sure you have your own usable connection details. Even if the app is installed correctly, it can't connect without imported details or complete server parameters. Buying the app again won't fix an incorrect server address, protocol parameters, or configuration file.

App updates are managed through the App Store. Check your account's updates list for available updates, or use automatic updates based on your device settings. Check the product page for update details, current price, and system requirements; a version or date shown in the store at any given time isn't a permanent guarantee. Before updating, keep a safe copy of any connection details you may need to restore.

If you can't tell whether a payment went through, check your purchase history and billing notices before deciding what to do next. For pending transactions, payment verification, or region restrictions, follow the specific App Store instructions. The store account handles purchases and billing; for connection setup, follow the Global Routing guide and troubleshooting steps instead of switching back and forth between unrelated issues.

Download and purchase FAQ

Distinguish App Store issues, purchase history, and connection setup before deciding what to do next.

Why can't I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

Shadowrocket is not available on the mainland China storefront. The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which App Store content you can see; us in the page link doesn't change your account region. Check the account used for Media & Purchases and its country or region, then confirm whether the app is available in that storefront.

The product page opens, but the download won't complete. What should I check first?

Note the exact App Store message, then check device compatibility, available storage, network connection, sign-in status for Media & Purchases, and any billing or payment alerts. If you've already bought the app, check your purchased items before taking further action to avoid repeating the process.

Do I have to pay again if I get a new iPhone or reinstall the app?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, then find Shadowrocket under your App Store account's purchased items to download it again at no extra cost. If a price appears, check the purchase account, purchase history, and storefront first. After reinstalling, you'll still need to restore your own subscription or server details.

Can I install it on my iPad if I bought it for iPhone?

Yes. Purchases are associated with the Apple ID, so you can install Shadowrocket on compatible iPhone and iPad devices after buying it once. Check the App Store page for system requirements and Universal Purchase availability. A purchase record doesn't mean your connection configuration has synced.

Can I install Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section on the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the product page on your target device for system requirements, compatibility, and Universal Purchase availability. The App Store page is the source of truth, and the App Store remains the way to get the app.

How do I follow the guide if the app is in English?

This official manual keeps the app's English menu names. Follow the steps using Home, Add Server, Subscribe, Config, and Global Routing. Import your existing subscription or server details first, then check Global Routing. Choose Config to route traffic according to configuration rules; see the tutorial page for the full walkthrough.
